About Leigh

Leigh Foley began her path to writing by being obsessed with books as a child. A Florida native, Leigh joined the United States Marine Corps after high school. Afterwards, she earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD in criminal justice, with a focus on victimology and social media. Her degrees plus her family connection to crime and the justice system really help her bring her novels to life.

She's proud of her two adult children, Autumn who's following in her mother's criminal justice footsteps, and Aubrey who is pursuing the trades. As of Summer 2026, Leigh lives in Western North Carolina with her three-time Grammy-nominated drummer husband, and she's excited to explore the mountains after 40+ years of living at sea level.
